sorbæ

One colour. An entire atelier.
Overview
sorbæ is an atelier of everyday objects that live inside one unmistakable pink world, where a lighter or a flask is treated with the care of a small sculpture. We set the brand direction, a lowercase wordmark and a first group of object concepts for functional art.
Brief and challenge
One colour is a strong idea and a thin one. If everything is pink, the objects need shared forms and details to feel like a family. Each piece also had to stay useful, a lighter that lights and a flask that pours, while reading as a small sculpture on a shelf.
Role and deliverables
Our team developed the brand direction and visual identity alongside the product concepts and their visualisation.
- Brand direction
- Wordmark and ligature
- Colour world
- Object concepts
- Product visualisation
Process
The wordmark is set in a soft lowercase serif with an æ ligature, underlined by a fine wave that later turns up as a seam on the objects. Swirls sculpted like soft-serve became the signature form, crowning a flip-top lighter whose flame rises from a whipped top and capping a flat glossy flask. Each object was rendered in gloss pink on pale stone, with a deep burgundy field kept for type.
Outcome
One colour, an entire atelier. Wordmark, swirl and wave seam travel together, so a new object can join the range by borrowing its proportions and its pink monochrome. The burgundy field and lowercase type give the brand a calm frame for whatever comes next.
