Wordmarks / Title units / Experimental type

Typography

A different voice for every name.

Overview

A collection of wordmarks and title units: Musico, Vogue x Royal Enfield's Threads of Tomorrow, the clothing brand KPDE, and an experimental typeface drawn from body shapes. Each begins with what the name has to carry, and draws only that.

Brief and challenge

Every name here asks for a different voice. A fashion collaboration, a streetwear label and a music company share almost nothing, so the work could not rely on a house style; each mark had to be found from the name outward.

Role and deliverables

We drew the wordmarks and title units and developed an experimental typeface alongside them.

Process

For Threads of Tomorrow, a fine connecting script runs over high-contrast serif capitals, in black on white beneath the Vogue and Royal Enfield marks. KPDE goes the other way: heavy, blocky black letters with a Devanagari character set into the middle, paired with a quick script tagline. Musico uses flowing white letterforms on black, its strokes echoing the curved lines behind it, and the unnamed typeface began with a photograph of a figure in motion and became spiky, bone-like capitals in white on black.

Outcome

The set reads as a range of solutions held together by a method. Each piece is mostly black and white, so form does the talking, and the Kimaya title setting in Devanagari and Latin sits naturally within the same collection.
