Visual identity / Architectural imagery

The Crystal Ateliers pointed-arch identity beside an architectural arch.
Presentation visualisation

One arch. An entire identity.

Overview

Crystal Ateliers takes a pointed arch and turns it into the whole identity. The mark is a slim gothic arch drawn as a single outline, set above a quiet serif name, and the same geometry repeats through every architectural image.

Brief and challenge

Architectural identities often borrow a building's look without saying anything about it. We wanted one form that worked at the size of a logo and at the scale of a facade, so the mark would feel drawn from the spaces it represents. It also had to sit comfortably in stone, on screen and in print.

Role and deliverables

Our studio created the visual identity and the architectural imagery used to present it.

  • Arch mark
  • Wordmark
  • Visual identity
  • Architectural imagery

Process

The arch was refined until it held as a dark line on black and as an inset form on travertine. We then built a series of spaces around it: a warm lounge with three tall arched windows open to the water, a single lit doorway at dusk under palms, and a pale stone facade with a row of arches at street level. Warm low light and banded stone keep the images in one register.

Outcome

One arch, an entire identity. Mark, wordmark and imagery share a single geometry, so the identity reads the same on a sign beside an entrance as it does in a dusk view of the building. Stone, warm light and the repeated arch give every future image a clear brief to follow.
