Esoteric

Esoteric gives a fashion story a world of its own. The series moves through a stained stone floor raked by window light, a domed rotunda open to the sky, a room of empty gilt frames and a cave lined with pale blue crystal. Atmosphere is the throughline, carried by light, texture and silhouette.

The direction was to move beyond duality, so every frame had to sit between two states: warm and cold, intimate and monumental, garment and architecture. With locations this different, the risk was a set of strong single images that never felt like one place.

We led art direction and worldbuilding, shaping the spaces, styling cues and light for each frame.

Clothing came first. A black corset over a billowing cream blouse, long tailored coats and a draped hood set the sculptural vocabulary, and each environment was chosen to answer a silhouette. We held the palette to umber, bone and a deep cool blue, letting shadow do most of the framing, and closed the series on two faces lit from opposite sides.

The finished set reads as chapters of a single world, with cinematic portraits and wide scenes sharing one grade and one quality of light. The panoramic cover was extended for presentation so the floor and its shafts of light could carry a horizontal format.
