Velox

Motion, made tangible.
Overview
Velox began with a running greyhound and a question about how far its energy could travel. The mark is a lean, fully stretched dog paired with a widely spaced wordmark, and it was tested on metal, stone and the body of a car to see whether motion could be made tangible.
Brief and challenge
A mark built on speed tends to lose its gesture once it is engraved, carved or shrunk onto a badge. Ours needed to stay recognisable on a polished panel, on a rough fragment of stone and at the scale of a small medallion.
Role and deliverables
Our work covered the mark itself, its construction and a run of material studies used to present the identity.
- Greyhound mark and wordmark
- Construction drawings
- Material studies
- Brand imagery
Process
We drew the greyhound on a diagonal construction grid, with a small four-point star marking its line of travel. From there the mark went onto an oval medallion framed in dense floral engraving, a riveted steel band, a chrome automotive form that reflects a low car in profile, and a carved stone fragment with acanthus scrollwork around the running figure.
Outcome
The result is a single mark proven across surfaces and scales, always shown on near-black with cool metallic light. Construction sheets, studies and presentation visualisations sit together as one kit, so the greyhound can be applied without redrawing it each time.
