KOR Beauty

The desert becomes the brand world.

Overview

Kor is a skincare brand built around one core ingredient, Aqua Cacteen, and we gave it an identity and web portfolio that start where the ingredient does. The world is a painted desert at dusk, with cactus, sand and still water, and everything else follows from it, from farm to home.

Brief and challenge

Ingredient stories in skincare often stay on the back of the pack. Here the origin had to become the brand world itself, warm enough for campaign imagery yet calm enough to hold a clinical product range.

Role and deliverables

We built the identity system and illustrated key art, then carried it into product visuals and the web portfolio.

  • Logo & identity
  • Illustrated key art
  • Colour & type system
  • Product range visuals
  • Web portfolio

Process

A painted landscape came first: violet sky, ochre dunes and a blue pool at the centre, with the Kor wordmark in a deep teal serif and a looser script for beauty. Colours were pulled straight from that scene into the palette, so teal packs sit against coral, peach, sage and lavender. A fine line drawing of a flowering cactus links the illustration to print, stationery and a canvas tote.

Outcome

Logo, palette, product range and campaign imagery all read as the same desert. The full range, from Skin Glaze to Hydra Cleanse, is shown on pale blue, and the web portfolio walks through it in the order the brand tells its story, from the field to the shelf.
